Two days ago me and my girl saw "Brüno" on Bergakungen movie theater.
I just think that Sacha Baron Cohen's idea and way of dealing with the most important issues of today is brilliant! He takes up subjects that people are afraid to talk about by confronting them in real life situations (some what exagurated though).
Kudos for all the work he have put down on this movie!
Once again he shows us that the world (USA) can be a sick and rasist place to be in.
However this flick isn't better than "Borat".
If "Borat" was an 8,4 this one is an 8 (wich totally makes it a "super gut" movie).
Either way it's a two thumbs up and a "must-go-see-flick".
A funny thing that most of the Swedish audience notices is that Lutz is played by Swedish actor Gustaf Hammarsten (Tillsammans, Tillfällig Fru Sökes) who have done lots of great work in his home country.
Bring your mom and dad to this flick!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Back from one weeks vacation (Sorry I haven't been writing).
Before I went for a week in Scania (Skåne, downsouth of Sweden) I saw "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" with my girlfriends big brother.
Now you're probably wondering why this flick shows up on my blog but I'll tell you.
I laid all the bad things I heard about the movie aside. I went there to get what was offered, nothing more. I went there to see a 2,5h, hardcore action movie with mutli million dollar effects. I didn't however go there thinking I'd see an academy award worthy flick.
This is why I was satisfied and went out of the theathre with a smile on my face.
You should see this movie with a clear head. Not expecting great acting or a great story, but expecting a bad ass, grafic fx experience!
John Turturro made the movie funnie so him a Shia LaBeouf can split the "Flicks For Kicks Favorite Character Award" for this one.

Taken (Liam Neeson)
This flick with story written by Luc Besson (& Robert Mark Kamen) is kind of a classic story.
Dother gets kidnapped father gets mad and hunts the bad guys down. We've all seen it before (Die Hard 4, Commando, etc).
But when it's told without the hollywood cliches it actually turns out to be a good, hardcore, action movie. Liam Neeson is brutal as the dad, Bryan Mills, in search for his little girl in Paris. He's actually so good that he's now competing in the big league with Jason Bourne and James Bond (Daniel Craig).
Big up to Pierre Morel (District 13) for directing an awesome action flick and big up Michel Abramowicz for making the cinematography worth mentioning.
Favorite character obviously is:

Milk!
What can I say? Awesome flick, awesome acting, nice photo, good cause, great city! I can go on forever but I won't. Can't quite understand why I hadn't seen this one yet.
Anyway, I saw it last night and felt really great!
This movie is a must on your flick list so go rent it if you haven't seen it.
Favorite character obviously is Sean Penn in one of his best performances ever.
He and James Franco make a really trustworthy and cute couple.
SEE!

The Hangover
Me, and my girlfriend went to see Todd Philips' "The Hangover" on an early show two days ago. Kind of weird expectations for this movie with it having the director of "Old School" (Will Ferrell) and "Starsky & Hutch" (Ben Stiller), 8,5 on IMDB at the moment and a cast that isn't that well known. I mean, I couldn't expect a new frat pack comedy flick and the story (Jon Lucas & Scott More) felt more hard and action packed.
This turned out to be a good movie with a super story. Not great like "I Love You, Man" but good. Kind of reminds me of "Memento" by Christopher Nolan in some ways of the storytelling.
It truly is good enough for me to buy it and rewatch it when it hits the video store.
It's a "see" and you'll definetly get a lot of laughs out of this one!
Favorite character is Bradley Cooper who have grown in my eyes since I saw him in Wedding Crashers (in which he was great).
Other great portraits of characters in picture below (Ken Jeong, Heather Graham & Zach Galifianakis).
In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Ken Jeong not being hilarious.
He's accent is absolutely a favorite in this flick!
SEE!
Extra-extra on Todd Philips is that he's working on a sequel to "Old School".
Something to look forward to!

I Love you, Man!
Speaking of Andy Samberg, I saw "I Love You, Man" at Bergakungen movie theater here in Gothenburg last week. My expectations for this flick was as high as a Method Man & Redman album. And lucky me! What do I get? A fucking brilliant movie.
If my expectations where a 7,2 on the IMDB scale this movie hit 8,1.
This comedy had it all. Embarrassing moments that made you want to crawl out your seat (like that family guy episode in the pub), on point humour from the superb brains of Jason Segel and Paul Rudd, & my girlfriend laughing out loud in a dead quiet theater room (she told me this is her favorite comedy ever).
I truly recommend this flick. If you liked Knocked Up & Forgetting Sarah Marshall you'll love this one even more!
This is a definite SEE! So what are you waiting for?

Cool guys & explosions
The sucky part about MTV Movie Awards is that the voters are all teen girls.
That means the hunky vampire guy (Robert Pattinson) gets to go on stage every fucking time an award is presented.
The good part about MTV Movie Awards is that Andy Samberg is hilarious.
